Raees Khudaidad, the most notorious mafia boss in Afghanistan's history, was hung to death at Pul-e-Charkhi prison on Saturday, a security official told TOLOnews on condition of anonymity.

Khudaidad was arrested last year in September during a special security force operation in Kabul. Hearing the news of his arrest, residents of Kabul called on the judicial institutions to sentence him to death.

This has been the first execution warrant being ordered by the National Unity Government
